Weekend Reading: Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

Hello Guys,

So this weekend amidst all these chaos and oborodh I wanted to read some Fantasy book. One of my friend recommended Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer to me in Goodreads. So I thought I might as well as give it a try.

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Twelve-year-old Artemis Fowl is a millionaire, a genius—and, above all, a criminal mastermind. But even Artemis doesn’t know what he’s taken on when he kidnaps a fairy, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit. These aren’t the fairies of bedtime stories—they’re dangerous! Full of unexpected twists and turns, Artemis Fowl is a riveting, magical adventure.

The most unique thing about this book is, most of the books are written based one the protagonist’s view of the whole thing. You hardly get to see what the villain thinks. And here, the villain is a child prodigy.Bingo…instant love 😀
And the supporting role of Butler is also notable. And dont get me started on Holly Short. She is a fairy and she sure can kick some ass if needed.

One thing that I want to point out is the dialogues and sometimes the plot seems flimsy. My mind kept drifting away while reading and I fell asleep twice( it wasnt the books fault though,I was tired).

My favorite quote from this book:
“Confidence is ignorance. If you’re feeling cocky, it’s because there’s something you don’t know.”
