A Chronicle of Falsies: Jands Mink Lashes Review

If you are following me on Facebook or Instagram, you have probably seen me sporting dramatic and telescopic lashes for the past few months. Well, they are not mine exactly. Meaning, my own body didn’t produce them.
But can you guess who are they from?
Presenting Jands, a Bangladeshi brand who has launched Mink lashes for the first time in Bangladesh. 

Jands : A Brand from Bangladesh

Jands is the brainchild of the amazing makeup artist Sheuly Rumu Begum. She lives in UK, but hasn’t forgotten her motherland a bit. So, when it came the time to launch her own brand, she launched it in Bangladesh.
These lashes came from the finest lash manufacturers of Korea. And want to know about the best part? No animal have been hurt during the production of these lashes. Isn’t that great?

Mink Lash or Plastic Ones?

If you live in Bangladesh and then at some point in your life you have probably encountered some lashes like these. They are very dramatic and very heavy for anyone’s lid.

But what’s more, people with sensitive eyes can even hurt themselves while using these. Take me for example. I have very sensitive eyes. Can’t even wear lenses to be honest. And every time I came into a pair of these kinds of lashes, I ran the other way.

Then I got to know about the wonderful world of Mink lashes.

Mink lashes are considered as the creme de la creme of the lash universe. Mink Eyelashes are made of individually selected mink fur hairs that have been harvested by gently brushing live farm animals. Mink eyelashes are not cruel to animals in any way! They are sterilized and Hypo-Allergenic.

100% mink or real mink lashes are nothing but animal furs. Compared to synthetic lashes, they are much lighter and thinner. And as it’s animal fur, it gives a more natural look that synthetic lashes. And as they are thinner than synthetic lashes, it won’t damage your natural eyelashes.
** You will need to take very good care of them. Since they are real furs, they are very fragile and tend to break easily.

My Experience with Jands Mink Lashes:

Two months ago, I got three pairs of Jands lashes from the brand. It was a part of their care package and I decided to try them out. In this insta, you can see the three styles that they sent me. They are:

Will you look at them? They actually look like a piece of art. Also, these are the softest pair of lashes that I ever laid my eyes on. Can't wait to wear them. I love the fact that they chose 3 of our Bangladeshi cities as the name of their different lash style. I felt kind of overwhelmed a bit.

I have been using these lashes a lot for these past two months. But before delving onto the lash styles and everything, I want you guys to see them in action.

Aren’t they amazing? They felt so luxurious to wear.

But enough chit-chats. Let’s get into the details of their individual styles.

Sylhet: For a Natural Look

Among all of the 3 lashes, the lash style in ” Sylhet” is the most natural looking. These lashes look like my lashes but better.

And don’t even mention how long these lashes are. After putting them on, I felt like my lashes can be seen from International Space Station. No Kidding!!!

Noo…. my lashes aren’t displaced. I was experimenting with my liner and kind of made it skinnier at the end. … lol

Moulvibazar: Perfect for a Date Night

If you want flirty and fluttering lashes, Moulvibazar is the one you should wear. I love how sultry looking it turned out once I decided to pair this one up with a vibrant lipstick.

If you want both volume and length, you can’t go wrong with Moulvibazar. It’s still natural looking, just in a flirty kind of way :p

Dhaka: For the Drama Queens

Among the all three lash styles, Dhaka has the most intricate pattern. These long flowing locks are evenly crisscrossed along the entire band, with the longest strands concentrated in the middle. With this unique overlapping effect, these mink lashes accentuate your eyes for a natural flutter effect.

These are by far the most voluminous and dramatic pair of lashes among the 3. I know it’s very hard to pick favorite, but if you threaten me with a dying cat, this is the one I’d choose. And I’ve pictures to prove it.

Chronicles of Jands Lashes:

As I have previously mentioned that I have very sensitive eyes, I tend to stay far away from falsies. But Jands has completely changed my outlook of false lashes.

Here are a few pointers that I’d like to mention:

Packaging:

First of all, who has done the packaging design for Jands, please take a bow. Apart from being a really sturdy box, they have such minimal and elegant design. I really loved the whole packaging.

Lashes:

Luxury is what luxury does.And you just need to put on a pair of these mink lashes to experience that. They are so soft and thin. It never felt like I have wearing anything on my lashes.

The Lash Band:

A thick lash will always have a thick lash band, right? WRONG!!!
These lash bands are so thin, they are barely visible. But don’t let that fool you. They are quite strong and can take quite a lot of strain.

Lash Styles:

At first, Jands has launched 3 lash styles in Bangladesh. They have another one coming soon. But these 3 lashes give you the option to explore and try out them in a different environment.
In fact, you can find several famous lash dupes among these 3. They are not an exact copy, Nah. But looks very similar. And whats more those lashes are 30-35 dollars each. So you do the math.

Price Breakdown:

Jands lashes are 1300 taka each inc. Bkash charge. I know there are other fake lashes ( calling them fake, because they look like one) in the market that you can buy for 200-300 taka. But here’s the catch, you can’t even wear them after one use. And they will hurt your eyes like hell.
But being 100% real mink lashes, you can wear Jands lashes up to 25 times. So, you are just spending like 50 taka per use. Pretty cool, right? And these are so comfortable to wear.

Things You Should Keep In Mind:

• It’s always best to use a latex free glue if you have sensitive eyes. House of Lashes has one. I’m currently using an Ardell one. That’s not latex free. But I’ve ordered the House of Lashes one. Hope to get it soon.
• Being a real fur fibre, real mink lashes doesn’t hold a curl like plastic ones. So warm your lash curler and curl up those lashes.
